No. 66 'Dogs to play three around inclement weather

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 66 Fresno State is back in California this weekend and will first face Santa Clara on Saturday in the Bay Area. The dual match which was originally scheduled for 12 p.m. PT has been pushed back to 2 p.m. due to possible inclement weather.

Series Record: Bulldogs lead 18-2.

Originally scheduled for Sunday, Fresno State's doubleheader in Fresno has been pushed to Monday due to potential inclement weather. Matches are set to begin at their scheduled times of 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. While the matches were set to be split between Fig Garden Swim & Raquet Club and Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center, both matches will now be played on Fresno State's campus at Wathen Tennis Center.

Bulldog Aces
• The Bulldogs opened the season by going 1-1 at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in College Station, Texas, first falling 4-0 to No. 5 Texas A&M before defeating then-No. 65 San Francisco 4-3.
• After earning the deciding match point against the Dons, Nikolas Papic was named Mountain West Player of the Week.
• Fresno State heads into the season with five returners (one seniors, two juniors, and two sophomore ) from the 2015 season when they were undefeated in conference play and earned the No. 1 seed in 2015
• Senior Nikolas Papic and junior Euan McIntosh are the team's top returners.
• Papic finished last spring with an 11-7 record, playing at all six positions. He also posted a 14-7 record in doubles play.
• McIntosh was 12-7 in the spring, playing No. 1-5 five spots. He was 11-8 in doubles.
• With the departure of former head coach Evan Austin, three-time ITA All-American Luke Shields was hired in October to guide the Bulldog program. Shields came to Fresno State with seven years of experience with stops at Marshall, Washington and his alma mater, Boise State. He spent the last two seasons as an Associate Head Coach with the Broncos.
• Joining the 'Dogs for the 2016 season are Jeremy Moser (Switzerland) who joined the team during the fall and the team's newest arrivals Mantas Bugailiskis (Lithuania) and Patrik Pech (Czech Republic).
