• Fresno State will host San Diego State for homecoming on Friday night, it will be aired nationally on the CBS Sports Network. The 'Dogs most recently hosted SDSU for their homecoming game in 2012.
• Fresno State has won eight of its last 10 homecoming games. Each of the eight wins came by an average of 13.5 points.
• The 2016 edition of the SDSU-FS rivalry will be the sixth season of the "Battle for the Old Oil Can" Trophy, given to the winning team. The Aztecs reclaimed the trophy in 2015 after the Bulldogs held it for three-straight seasons.
• As it pertains to Bulldog Stadium, the Bulldogs have been defeated by the Aztecs once since the stadium opened in 1980 - a one-point loss (20-19) in 1997.
• In what was a career game for junior running back Dontel James at Nevada, his output of 169 yards rushing was the most by a Bulldog since Robbie Rouse ran for 261 yards at Nevada on Nov. 10, 2012.
• The Fresno State offense averaged 5.9 yards per play last time out. Its best output since facing UNLV in 2014 (6.3).
• Kody Kroening is one of five active FBS kickers with double-digit consecutive makes. The junior place kicker was 3-of-3 at Nevada, extending his streak to 10 straight made field goals.
• All with 400-plus receiving yards, the trio of KeeSean Johnson, Jamire Jordan and Aaron Peck own 1,286 of Virgil's 1,366 passing yards this season.
• The Bulldogs have lost five-straight twice since the year 2000. Once in 2006 and again in 2015. The 'Dogs streak of seven losses during that 2006 season matched a school record set back in 1929.
