• Win the turnover battle; you have to go back 17 matchups ago to find the last time one of these teams won the game while losing the turnover battle. That came in 1999 when Fresno State overcame three lost fumbles and only generated one take-away on an interception during its 49-24 win over the Wolf Pack. In two trips to Reno under DeRuyter, the 'Dogs have generated seven turnovers in those games they won (4-2012, 3-2014).
• Fresno State dropped its first matchup to Nevada during the Tim DeRuyter era in 2015 (3-1), but the Bulldogs still own the all-time advantage 27-19-1 against the Wolf Pack. Fresno State is 12-10-1 all-time when playing in Reno.
• The 'Dogs are facing league play with the challenge of back-to-back road games for the second consecutive season. Since 1999, only six Mountain West teams have opened league play with road games in back-to-back weeks, and Fresno State is in the midst of becoming the seventh team to face that test.
• Aaron Peck's 194-yard receiving performance vs. UNLV ranks as the best single game performance in the Mountain West this season and the T-14th best in the FBS. Peck is one of two wideouts in that FBS top 15 to got have gotten there with as few as five catches.
• Fresno State's leading tackler ILB Jeff Camilli (42 tackles) ranks 13th nationally and third in the MW in tackles per game (10.5). He has played in four of five games in 2016.
• With four 100-yard receiving games (Jordan 2, Peck 2), the Bulldog wideouts have matched the number of 100-yard games recorded in 2014 (3) and 2015 (1).
• Kody Kroening has made seven straight field goals since missing his first of the season at Nebraska. He knocked home a career-long 47-yarder at UNLV last week.
• Fresno State has blocked two punts through five games this season, which is tied with four other teams for the most in FBS football.
