Pech and Gong travel to Saint Mary's Invitational

MORAGA, Calif. – Fresno State traveled to Northern California to compete in the Saint Mary's Invitational Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Patrik Pech and freshman Bailey Gong represented the Bulldogs.

The invitational was originally going to be three days but was reduced to one day due to weather.

In the singles F Flight, Patrik Pech defeated Nash Vollenweider (4-6, 6-3; 1-0(9) of Saint Mary's in a tiebreaker. Pech fell in the second round to Dom Miller (4-6, 6-2; 1-0(10) of Sacramento State in a tiebreaker.

As for the singles K Flight, Bailey Gong was bested by Sullivan Roche (7-6(7), 6-4) of Sonoma State. Gong played in the consolation round of the K Fight where he fell to Pacific's Lance Ngo (6-2, 6-3).

Gong and Pech played in the Doubles B. The duo was defeated by Wade and Whittle of UC Davis (6-0). The doubles team played in the consolation round of the B Flight where they were defeated by Barretto and Matta of Cal (6-2).Â
