'Dogs compete in UCSB Classic

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team is traveling to UC Santa Barbara this weekend to compete in the 2016 UCSB Classic.  Juniors Youssef Hassan and Xander Veys, sophomore Jeremy Moser and freshman Bailey Gong will compete for the Bulldogs this weekend.
Eleven teams will be competing in the 2016 UCSB Classic. Cal, Oregon and UCLA from the PAC 12 will compete this weekend along with UC Davis, UCSB, Pacific, Cal Poly, LMU, USF and Saint Mary's.
Youssef Hassan will kick off his 2016-17 season this weekend in the singles A Flight. The junior will face Nicolas Moreno of UCSB in his first round.
UNC Wilmington transfer, Xander Veys, will make his Bulldog debut in the B Flight against Dominic Barretto of Cal.
In Flight C, Jeremy Moser will face Max Pham of UC Davis.
Rounding out singles play, Bailey Gong will compete against Saint Mary's Matt Campana in the D Flight.
Hassan and Veys will open up their season as a doubles team in the A Flight against UCLA's Maxime Cressy and Daniel Gealer. Moser and Gong will compete in the doubles C Flight against Antoine Noel and Axel Damiens of Cal Poly.
'Dogs will open up play at 1 p.m. PT Friday Oct. 7, starting with doubles.
