FRESNO, Calif. -Â Fresno State head coach Mike Batesole and the Bulldogs baseball program have signed nine players to National Letters of Intent in the early signing period for the 2017-18 year. All nine of the future 'Dogs are currently high school seniors and this class addresses some of the primary needs the Bulldogs will be looking to address heading into the 2018 season.Â
This signing class features two pitchers, two outfielders, two infielders, two catchers and one two-way player who is a pitcher and outfielder.
"This class represents some of the best high school players in the state of California," said Batesole on the 'Dogs nine signees.
The 'Dogs signed a pair of right-handed pitchers in Jamison Hill (Rancho Bernardo HS) and Kevin Larson (Independence HS) and are joined by two-way player Dylan Johnson (Palo Verde HS) who is a left-handed pitcher as well as an outfielder.Â
In the infield, the 'Dogs signed a pair of players in Fresno native Isaiah Haddad (Edison HS) along with Emilio Nogales (Saint Francis HS). Keeping another top local prospect home, the 'Dogs signed catcher Zach Presno from Buchanan High School as the Clovis native was ranked among the Top 75 best players in California by Perfect Game for 2017 class. The 'Dogs also added another backstop in Omar Veloz (Cathedral HS).
Rounding out the class for the Bulldogs is a pair of outfielders in Nate Thimjon (Franklin HS) out of Elk Grove and Miles Tomczak (Argonaut HS) from Ione, Calif.
"Our coaching staff is confident that this group will be leaders in helping us win championships in years to come. These young men will compete at the highest level on the field, earn their degree and represent the Central Valley in a way that will make the entire Red Wave proud. Bulldog Baseball is proud to have each and every one of these student athletes along with their families," added Batesole.
