Notes:
• Fresno State owns a team scoring average of 294.12 (6.12 vs. par), which is on pace for the Bulldogs best average in the program's 11-year history.
• Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir leads the team with its best season scoring average at 73.20 (1.28 vs. par) while Hannah Sodersten trails her with a 73.28 (1.36 vs. par). Both are on pace to challenge Madchen Ly, who set the all-time program record for the best season scoring average during the 2014-15 season at 73.29 (1.29 vs. par).
• Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir was named Mountain West Golfer of the Week on Tuesday for the week of tournaments played March 21-23 - Fresno State competed at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on March 21-22. It was her second weekly accolade in the month of March.
• Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir led the Bulldogs at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational as she fired a 4-over-par 220. She opened with a first round 76 and followed with back-to-back even-par scores (72). She was 6-over-par on the first 14 holes and proceeded to go 2-under-par over the next 40 holes.
• Fresno State finished fifth against an 18-team field at the 2015 edition of the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate (290-295-292=877). Three of the five Bulldogs going to Oxford for the 2016 event competed in 2015 - Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir tied for 18th (73-75-73=221), Mimi Ho tied for 25th (70-79-73=222) and Hannah Sodersten tied for 41st (77-76-73=226).
• Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir has led Fresno State with its lowest individual tournament score over the past two tournaments and finished in the individual top 15 of the last three events she participated in.
• Kristin Simonsen, who has placed in the top 25 in each of the four spring tournaments in 2016, owns a 73.60 scoring average. The Bulldogs have used each round she has carded towards the Bulldogs' team score in the 5-count-4 format.
• Hannah Sodersten owns four top 10 finishes and has finished in the top 25 in seven of nine tournaments during the 2015-16 season.
• Fresno State is ranked No. 69 in the latest Golfstat.com team rankings, released March 30 -- the Bulldogs enter the 2016 Rebel Intercollegiate as the top-ranked team, other top 100 teams include No. 86 Harvard, No. 92 East Tennessee State, No. 93 Troy and No. 97 Memphis.
• Hannah Sodersten is ranked No. 131 and Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir is ranked No. 215 in the latest Golfstat.com individual rankings, released March 30.
• Fresno State student athletes have garnered MW Golfer of the Week honors after three of its four events competed in during the spring season. Kristin Simonsen picked up the accolade on Feb. 17 following the Peg Barnard Invitational (74-73=147). Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir was named MW Golfer of the Week on March 9 following the Bulldogs home-hosted Fresno State Classic (68-71=139) and on March 29 after the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational (76-72-72=220).
• The distance from Kane'ohe, Hawai'i to Oxford, Miss. is 4,187 miles - the sites of the last tournament played (March 22-23) and upcoming event (April 1-3).
• Weather at the Rebel Intercollegiate on Friday (High 69F, Low 42F) is forecasted to be sunny with a zero percent chance of rain - winds north at 5-10mph; Saturday (High 64F, Low 41F) is forecasted to be sunny with 10 percent chance of rain - winds northwest at 10-15mph; Sunday (High 67F, Low 43F) is forecasted to be sunny with zero percent chance of rain - winds light and variable.
