Fresno State falls 4-2 at Air Force

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Like many of its conference dual matches this season, Fresno State again went back-and-forth with its opponent, but the Bulldogs ultimately fell 4-2 at Air Force on Friday at the Air Force Academy Indoor Tennis Courts.
Struggling throughout the year to capture the doubles point, the Bulldogs (8-14, 0-5 MW) found themselves in familiar territory against the Falcons (5-15, 0-3 MW). Trailing 1-0 after dropping the doubles point, the 'Dogs scrapped and clawed throughout the early going of the dual match.
Junior Euan McIntosh dispatched Andrew Parks 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 position to draw the teams level, but Max Olson then defeated Mantas Bugailiskis 6-3, 6-4 to put the Falcons back ahead. Patrik Pech responded for the 'Dogs with a 7-6, 6-1 victory at No. 4.
Tied at 2-2, Nikolas Papic was unable to outlast Jack McCullers, falling in three sets, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Isaac Perez ended the match with a 7-6, 7-5 defeat of Youssef Hassan to give the Falcons the win.
The Bulldogs return home Sunday as they host No. 60 New Mexico at 11 a.m. PT at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
