FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's soccer head coach Brian Zwaschka announced the addition of Oklahoma junior transfer Anna Crawford for the 2016 season on Tuesday. Crawford appeared in 15 games for the Sooners, starting 10, and recorded three assists in her time as a midfielder and defender.
"In Anna, we gain a seasoned player who has significant experience in big games in a very strong Big 12 Conference," Zwaschka said. "She has the ability and background to impact our team from day one. She has some versatility as a wide player in midfield or defense, but equally has the ability to play a central holding role to good effect."
Earlier this year, the 'Dogs received National Letters of Intent from defenders Asia Harbour-Brown and Emma Chivers, midfielders Sydni Lunt and Tori Nicolo, and forward Kasidee Wiley. Goalkeeper Alex Best and midfielder Kayla Calmes also committed to the program.
"Anna is another example of how hard we've looked for some very specific players whose experience and personality can spark us to get our program back to its winning ways," Zwaschka added. "We've been in need of some hardening and this class has some of the steel we've been lacking, but with no shortage of the technical requirements we expect for our style."

Crawford joins the Bulldogs after spending her first two collegiate years at the University of Oklahoma. She appeared in five games during her freshman year and started in 10 games during her sophomore year, in which she recorded a school-record three assists in an 8-1 victory over UTSA on Sept. 6, 2015.
In high school, Crawford spent her junior and senior years at Mustang High School in Mustang, Okla., where she was a two-year varsity letterwinner, was named All-State in 2014, scoring the game-winning goal in the 6A All-State game, and was named All-Metro Conference in Oklahoma City in 2013. Crawford attended Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Va., during her freshman and sophomore years where she was a two-year varsity letterwinner.
"I chose to transfer to Fresno State because I know the coaches and staff will help me develop as a person, student and soccer player," Crawford said. "It's a competitive program and I can't wait to sharpen my skills and contribute to the success of the team."
