FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team will be in action at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 8-11, at Hayward Field. While the men's semifinals kicks off the event Wednesday, the Bulldogs, who will be represented by Kyra Johnson and Annemarie Schwanz, are scheduled to compete during the women's semifinal round on Thursday, with potential to advance to the finals on Saturday.

THURSDAY (June 9)
4:46 p.m. - Annemarie Schwanz (1500m, Semifinal)
2 Heats of 12. Advance top 5 from each heat, plus next best 2 times to final.
6:30 p.m. - Kyra Johnson (400 Hurdles, Semifinal)
3 Heats of 8. Advance top 2 from each heat, plus next best 2 times to final.
SATURDAY (June 11)
3:41 p.m. - Women's 1500m Final
1 Heat of 12. Top 8 earn first-team All-American status.
4:57 p.m. - Women's 400 Hurdles Final
1 Heat of 8. Each competitor quailfied for final, secured first-team All-American status.
A glance at Kyra Johnson (Sr.):
• Making second-straight appearance to NCAA Championships in 400m hurdles race.
- 2015 Semifinal Round: Placed seventh in second heat, finished 20th overall (59.26).
• Qualified for 2016 NCAA Championships by having of the six fastest times by those that did not win their heat in the 400m hurdles at the NCAA West Preliminary Round, clocking a 57.85 (placed second in sixth heat, finished 8th overall).
• Four-time All-Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field selection.
• Earned silver in the 400m hurdles (58.03) at the 2016 Mountain West Championships.
• In outdoor track, holds Fresno State school record in the 400m hurdles (57.85).
A glance at Annemarie Schwanz (Jr.):
• Making first appearance to NCAA Championships as an individual (1500m).
- made 2015 trip to NCAA Championships as an alternate for the 4x400m relay team (did not compete).
• Qualified for 2016 NCAA Championships by winning her heat in the 1500m at NCAA West Preliminary Round, clocking a 4:21.87. Time was 13th overall.
• Back-to-back All-Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field selection.
• Earned gold in the 1500m run (4:23.06) and bronze in the 5000m run (16:28.99) at the 2016 Mountain West Championships.
• In outdoor track, holds Fresno State school record in the 1500m (4:14.89) and 5000m (16:05.58).

Wednesday: Men's track semifinals, men's field finals, decathlon
Thursday: Women's track semifinals, women's field finals, decathlon
Friday: Men's track finals, men's field finals, heptathlon
Saturday: Women's track finals, women's field finals, heptathlon
How they got there: Each athlete ranked among the top 48 in their respective event, both in the west region and east region, advanced to the NCAA Preliminary Round in either Lawrence, Kansas or Jacksonville, Florida (May 26-28).
Athletes that finished with the top-12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams from their respective preliminary round, qualified for the NCAA Championships, held in Eugene, Oregon, this week.
At the conclusion of the event, those that place first through eighth will be deemed first-team All-Americans and finishers ninth through 16th will be designated second-team All-Americans. Those that place 17th through 24th will be distinguished with honorable mention accolades, but are not deemed with All-American status - as named by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, also known as the USTFCCCA.
