• Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter, now in his fifth season leading the program, enters Saturday's game against Sacramento State with a 3-1 record in home openers. Since 2000, Fresno State has lost only two home openers in that span, both being against ranked opponents entering Bulldog Stadium - No. 10 Wisconsin (2007) & No. 21 Nebraska (2014).
• Although just a mere 174 miles from Hornet Stadium to Bulldog Stadium, Saturday's contest will be the third time Fresno State and Sacramento State will have met. The 'Dogs own a 2-0 record in those games with the previous games happening in 1972 and 2007.
• Tim DeRuyter's teams own a 26.0 margin of victory over FCS opponents in four wins since 2012. Fresno State is 26-1 against the FCS since 1982.
• Last Saturday, 21 Bulldogs saw their first game action, including five true freshman.
• Aaron Peck and KeeSean Johnson both set career highs in receptions with nine and eight, respectively. The duo combined for 17 of the 24 completed passes against Nebraska.
• Did you know? Last time the Bulldogs hosted Sacramento State in 2007, Fresno State retired David Carr's No. 8 jersey during a halftime ceremony.
• On Saturday, the NFL trimmed down its rosters to the 53-man units that will start week one this coming Sunday, 11 Bulldogs are on active rosters while two are on practice squads.
• Fresno State's new look sideline features six first-year coaches that will grace the sideline at Bulldog Stadium for the first time this Saturday; it includes offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau (Alabama, 2015), defensive coordinator Lorezno Ward (South Carolina, 2009-15) and assistant coaches Joe Bernardi, Burl Toler, Dave Ungerer and Mark Weber.
