Julia Glaser named National Player of the Week by United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sophomore Julia Glaser was named the NCAA Division I Women's National Player of the Week by United Soccer Coaches, the association announced Tuesday. Glaser received this honor after leading Fresno State to its first 2-0 week in Mountain West play, scoring six goals. She scored the game-winning goal in both matches. Glaser is Fresno State's first National Player of the Week from United Soccer Coaches (formerly known as NSCAA) in program history.
Each Tuesday during the college regular season, United Soccer Coaches selects a men's and women's Player of the Week for NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and junior college competition based on nominations from schools and conferences across the country.
Glaser was also named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, after her outstanding weekend for the Bulldogs.
Fresno State defeated UNLV 4-1 on Friday, Oct. 13. Glaser scored all four of Fresno State's goals in the match. The four goals and eight points marked career-highs for Glaser. She tied the Fresno State program record for most goals in a single-game, the record was set in 2000. Glaser's four goals and eight points were also MW single-game highs.
The 'Dogs outlasted the Wolf Pack 3-1 on Sunday, Oct. 15. Glaser contributed two goals to the win. Glaser logged a season-high six shots in the contest.
The Lorrach, Germany native finished the two matches with a combined ten shots, including six on goal, along with six goals and 12 points.
Glaser leads the MW in goals (13), goals per game (0.81), points (27) and points per game (1.69). Â Nationally, Glaser ranks No. 4 in goals and No. 10 in points.
