'Dogs gear up for ITA Northwest Regionals

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team will be competing in the ITA Northwest Regionals Oct. 19 through Oct. 23. The tournament will be hosted by Pacific, 16 teams will competing. Bailey Gong, Cem Erturk, Mantas Bugailiskis, Patrik Pech, Jeremy Moser, Henrique Osorio, Cagatay Soke, Zdenek Derkas and Youssef Hassan will make the trip for the Bulldogs.
Each Bulldog will compete in singles and doubles. The tournament will open up with singles on Thursday and doubles will begin on Friday.
Four Bulldogs are seeded in the singles draw. Derkas is a No. 10 seed, the highest seed for the Bulldogs. He will face David Goulak of UC Davis on 11:30 a.m. PT. Erturk is a No. 17 seed, he'll face Kasparas Zemaitelis of Sacramento State at 12:30 p.m. PT. Osorio is a No. 17 seed, he'll face Ricardo Almeida of Eastern Washington. Bugailiskis is also a No. 17 seed, he will face Saint Mary's Brian Lee at 8 a.m. PT.
Gong will meet Mathieu Garcia of Portland in the first round at 8 a.m. PT. Pech will play Gabe Souza of Portland State at 1:30 p.m. PT. Moser is set to play Kevin Everly of Gonzaga at 11:00 a.m. PT. Soke will face Everett Maltby of UC Davis at 11:30 a.m. PT. Hassan will meet Portland State's Majeed Bukhari in the first round at 10:30 a.m. PT.
