'Dogs finish singles play at ITA All-American Championship, look to begin doubles

TULSA, Okla. – The Fresno State men's tennis team wrapped up the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships prequalifying rounds on Sunday. Mantas Bugailiskis, Zdenek Derkas, Youssef Hassan and Xander Veys made the trip for Fresno State.
After winning three matches on Saturday, Derkas advanced to the round of 64. He defeated Dane Dunlap of Miami 6-4, 6-2. Derkas fell in the Round of 32 to Linus Erhart of Nebraska in three sets 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-2.
Bugailiskis began the Round of 64 after winning three matches on Saturday. He fell in the Round of 64 to Constandinos Christoforou of UNC Charlotte in three sets 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
Two 'Dogs competed in the Prequalifying Consolation draw Sunday afternoon. Veys defeated Johnny Goodwin of Texas. Hassan fell to Brady Draheim of Oklahoma State 6-3, 6-3.
Buagiliskis and Veys will begin doubles play on Monday in the Qualifying Doubles draw. The Qualifying Doubles draw consists of 64 teams, teams must win a minimum of three matches to advance to the Main Doubles draw.
The duo will face Ammar Alhobani and Matthew Lord of Virginia at 12:30 p.m. PT. Â
