• The 2017 Hawai'i Bowl will mark the first-ever meeting between the Fresno State Bulldogs and Houston Cougars.
• Fresno State can become the second team in FBS history to go from a season with double-digit losses to a season with double-digit wins with a victory at the Hawai'i Bowl.
• Jeff Tedford was named the Mountain West Coach of Year on Nov. 29 and is on the ballot for three national coach of the year awards.
• Jeff Tedford became the third coach in Fresno State program history to lead his team to a bowl game in his first year as the head coach of the Bulldogs.
• Fresno State is playing in its 28th all-time bowl game, and fifth all-time bowl game in the state of Hawai'i. The 'Dogs are making their third Hawai'i Bowl appearance since 2012.
• The Bulldogs played in their third Mountain West Championship game in five seasons last time out (Dec. 2); Boise State defeated Fresno State 17-14 thanks to a fourth quarter come-from-behind win.
• Fresno State is receiving votes in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches polls; Fresno State was inside the CFP Top 25 and AP Top 25 prior to its MW championship loss.
• 16 Bulldogs earned 2017 all-conference honors; Jeffrey Allison was named a first-team selection while four others were named second-team selections and 11 earned an honorable mention nod.
