Undefeated Bulldogs pick up a road win at Mercer 12-10

MACON, Ga. --- The Fresno State women's lacrosse team improves to 3-0 after defeating Mercer Sunday morning. The Bulldogs bested the Bears 10-12.
This is the first time Fresno State has had a 3-0 start in program history.
"This was a great team win on the road," said head coach Jessica Giglio. "To be 3-0 is a total team effort, especially to win the last two on the road. Our defense had a phenomenal game led by our goalie, Laurel Maunder. Tiffiny Wallace stepped up and had a huge game for us. Our team worked well together on the draw control and that was a momentum change for the game."
Freshman Tiffiny Wallace led the offense with five goals on seven shots and two assists. Wallace has scored 12 goals in the last three games.
Sarah Bloise scored three goals, Nicole Ortlieb scored two goals, Marina Mayo and Ryleigh Bone tacked on a goal each to round out scoring.
Fresno State was down by one at halftime (5-4), before outscoring Mercer 8-5 in the second half to win the game.
Kyleigh Westgarth had a team-high 5 draw controls.
As a team, Fresno State had a 16-8 advantage in draw controls. The Bulldogs recorded 28 shots with 23 on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Laurel Maunder played all 60 minutes in the cage, recording a career-high 13 saves and improving to 3-0 on the season.

The Bulldogs open MPSF play against Oregon Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. PT at the Fresno State Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
