Fresno State football learns 2017 Mountain West schedule

Season tickets for 2017 start as low as $99; season ticket renewals close March 16
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Fresno State football team learned it 2017 conference schedule on Thursday, highlights include opening the Mountain West schedule at home for the first time since 2013, starting with Nevada, and hosting Boise State on the final week of the season for Senior Day.

"This schedule presents a lot of great opportunities and we have a great deal of respect for all of our opponents," said head coach Jeff Tedford. "I am looking forward to start competing for Mountain West championships, but even more so competing in front of the Red Wave in that first game in September."Â

It must be noted that Thursday's release represents the first phase in the 2017 football schedule process and games can still move to Thursdays or Fridays, but the week-of schedule is locked in.

Mountain West national television partners CBS Sports Network and ESPN will now initiate a selection procedure which will include the shifting of particular games. That will be followed by the identification of network outlets and kick times, along with the picks for regional partner ROOT SPORTS and the Mountain West Network on Campus Insiders.

The 2017 Mountain West football schedule released on Thursday is comprised of 97 games, including 48 conference matchups. The scheduling format for the 12-member football lineup consists of five intra-divisional games and three cross-divisional contests. Each institution will play four home and four road conference games. This is the fifth year in which each member institution will play every other Mountain West opponent home and away.

The 2017 schedule will play out over 14 weeks, concluding on Sat., Dec. 2 with the Mountain West Football Championship Game to be played at the home stadium of the highest-ranked of the two divisional champions.

The 2017 MW football membership includes Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Utah State and Wyoming in the Mountain Division and Fresno State, Hawai'i, Nevada, San Diego State, San José State and UNLV in the West Division.
