'Dogs face No. 4 Buffs in road contest

BOULDER, Calif. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team ends their six-game homestand by traveling to face Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe Colorado on Saturday, March 25 at 11 a.m. PT.
The Bulldogs are 7-2(0-1 MPSF) on the season.
Freshman Tiffiny Wallace has recorded a team-best 27 goals and eight assists. Sophomore Sarah Bloise has 26 goals and a team-high nine assists. Bloise also leads the team with 34 draw controls. Both Wallace and Bloise have recorded 35 points this season.
Colorado leads the all-time series between the programs 3-0.
Scouting the Buffs
Colorado is undefeated at 9-0 (2-0 MPSF) this season.
The Buffs are currently ranked No. 4 in the nation.
Colorado has won six straight home games this season, and are currently on a nine-game home winning streak dating back to last season.
Junior attacker Darby Kiernan leads Colorado with 26 goals. She leads the MPSF and is No. 3 in the nation in draw controls per game, with 7.78.
Senior goalkeeper Paige Soenksen leads the nation with a 7.20 goals against average and is second with a .575 save percentage. Colorado has only allowed 62 goals this season.Â
Buffs lead the nation in various categories. The Buffs are first in the nation in scoring defense with 6.89, scoring margin with 9.33 and are one of three teams that remain undefeated.

The Bulldogs have shown an aggressive offense to start the season, outscoring their opponents 116-91 through the first nine games.

Freshman Tiffiny Wallace leads the Bulldogs through six games with 27 goals. She had a career-high five goals against Mercer to lead Fresno State to a 12-10 victory. Wallace is No. 31 in the nation in goals scored per game with 3.00. Wallace is No. 22 in that nation in total goals this season with 27.
Freshman Marina Mayo, who has 16 goals, 16 ground balls, 12 draw controls and eight caused turnovers on the season, was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for games played Feb. 6 through Feb. 12. She scored four goals and grabbed a team-high four ground balls in her collegiate debut to lead the Bulldogs to a 15-12 victory over LIU Brooklyn.
Freshman midfielder Kayla Galet, who has 18 goals on the season, was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for games played Feb. 27 through March 5. She scored six goals on nine shots to lead Fresno State to an 18-6 victory over Presbyterian College. She grabbed one ground ball and caused two turnovers. The freshman was a perfect 1-for-1 in free position shots. Galet sparked an 8-0 Bulldog run in the first half with three consecutive goals.
Freshman goalkeeper Laurel Maunder has started all seven games of the season, owning a 7-2 record. She is No. 26 in the nation in saves per game, averaging 9.22 saves.
Maunder is No. 13 in the nation in saves, with 83 this season.
Maunder had a career-high 15 saves in the Bulldogs 9-8 win over Quinnipiac on March 16.
