Fresno State sophomore Kristin Simonsen earns the Bulldogs' second weekly award in as many weeks
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sophomore Kristin Simonsen was the named the Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week for tournaments played, March 20-22, announced by the league on Tuesday. It is her second career weekly accolade, having also picked up the honor as a freshman.

Simonsen was integral in Fresno State earning a fourth-place finish at SDSU's March Mayhem match play event from March 20-22, played on the 6,211-yard Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

The sophomore compiled a 3-1 individual record, including two wins that helped the Bulldogs earn victories over No. 28 San Diego State and No. 29 California.

Despite a loss to No. 2 USC, Simonsen defeated the Trojans' Victoria Morgan, the 21st-ranked individual nationally, in the third match.

• Simonsen's won 2&1 in the semifinals against Southern California's Victoria Morgan – the 21st-ranked individual in the nation.
• Simonsen's 3&2 victory over Cal's Maria Herraez Galvez was a win against the No. 95-ranked individual.
• Simonsen's 2&1 victory over SDSU's Haleigh Krause was another win against a Top 250 opponent.
• Simonsen had a 3.06 par 3 average, a 4.36 par 4 average and a 4.94 par 5 average.
