• Fresno State is a two-time team champion of The Goodwin -- 1988 and 1996; the 'Dogs fired an 875 in 1988 and an 870 in 1996; the 1988 team fielded former Bulldog All-American David Sutherland and the 1996 team fielded three-time All-American and former Bulldog Jon Bettencourt.
• Originally named the 'United States Intercollegiate' the event was renamed 'The Goodwin' prior to the 2014 edition in honor of former Cardinal head coach Wally Goodwin. Goodwin coached at Stanford from 1983-2000, and his tenure was highlighted by winning the 1994 national title. Goodwin was named national coach of the year in 1992 and 1994.
• Designed in 1930 by renowned architects William Bell and George Thomas, the Stanford Golf Course is steeped in tradition. Throughout the years, Stanford has hosted many intercollegiate and non-collegiate events, including the Stanford Intercollegiate, Peg Barnard Intercollegiate, Pac-10 Championships, NCAA Regional Championships, NCAA Women's Championship, USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying, U.S. Open Qualifying and The Gathering at the Farm, a former Senior PGA Tour event.
• Fresno State finished 23rd of 26 teams at the 2016 edition of the Goodwin; the team fired an 887.
• Trevor Clayton led all Bulldog individuals with a 7-over-par 217 (72-74-71) in 2016. He finished tied for 50th against the 138-person field.
• Clayton is the Bulldogs' leader for lowest season average during the 2016-17 season, averaging a 72.13 over 23 rounds.
• Alex Lee is No. 2 among season scoring averages in 2016-17, owning a 72.96 average over 24 rounds.
• Clayton, Lee, Justin Avery and Greg Gildea each own at least one top 20 finish during the 2016-17 season.
