Sophomore heptathlete posts fifth-highest score in school history.
AZUSA, Calif. – In her first heptathlon of the season, and second of her career, Jestena Mattson finished 12th at the Mt. SAC Relays/CA Invitational with 5,004 points. It was the fifth-highest point total in program history.

The sophomore saw her top points totals come in the 200 meters (929) and 800 meters (835) after posting new personal records in both events. Mattson time of 24.54 was 0.34 better than previous time in the 200m, while she took more than 10 seconds off of her previous best time in the in 800m to clock in at 2:19.13.

In the women's 5,000 meters of the Bryan Clay Invitational, Cristal Rivera placed fourth in heat eight with a time of 19:35.68. It was more than 13 seconds better than the senior's previous personal best.

Running in heat three in the men's 5,000 meters, Matt Kwiatkowski posted the Bulldogs top time in the event at 15:04.50 as he placed 25th. Joel Gonzalez posted the team's top time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after clocking a time of 9:46.28 to finish ninth in section one.
