FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State men's tennis coach Luke Shields has announced the addition of Cem Erturk for Fall 2017. The Turkey native will have four years of eligibility.
"We are really excited to have Cem joining us," Shields said. "He matches a lot of the values that we look for while recruiting. We are looking for good character in our future student-athletes. He is respectful, passionate and unselfish. He has been apart of a team that won the World Championships so he understands the sacrifice needed to make a team great. Cem is hungry to get going and take this program to new heights. We are excited to get him started."
Erturk's ITF Junior accolades:
"I chose Fresno State because it has high-level tennis environment with a renowned coach who can guide me to develop and raise my game to the higher level that I am aspiring for," Erturk said. "I will be surrounded by a group of players who I will be able to form a small family with during the next four years, which is very important since I will be far away from home. Fresno State also offers a wide range of educational possibilities, which is very important to me as well. I look forward to representing Fresno State to the best of my ability." Â
Erturk is the first signee of the Fresno State men's tennis 2017 signing class.
