Schwanz tabbed MW Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Senior wins second weekly honor this month.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State senior Annemarie Schwanz was named Mountain West Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. It was Schwanz's second weekly honor this season and third of her career.

The native of Neuruppin, Germany finished second overall and first among collegiate competitors in the 800-Meter Run at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 14 in Azusa, Calif, in a field that featured 145 athletes. Schwanz's time of 2:04.65 broke a 25-year-old Fresno State program record. The mark ranks second in the MW and 11th in the nation this season.
It was only the second time during the past three seasons that Schwanz has competed in the event.
