'Dogs to host Golden Bears on Senior Night

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team will host MPSF foe Cal on Friday, April 21 for Senior Night. The matchup between the Bulldogs (9-6, 2-5 MPSF) and the Golden Bears (4-11, 2-5 MPSF) will start at 6 p.m. PT in the Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium.
The lacrosse team will be honoring five seniors Friday night including Caroline Dineen-Carlson, Chelsea Hall, Alex White, Kyleigh Westgarth and Chyna Hill.
The Bulldogs are playing for the opportunity to advance to the MPSF Tournament April 27-30. The top six teams in the conference earn a spot to compete in the tournament.
As a team, Fresno State has broken 23 program records so far this season.

Scouting the Golden Bears
Rookies provide a boost on both sides of the field
Freshman Tiffiny Wallace leads the Bulldogs through 13 games with 44 goals. Wallace is now the program record holder for most goals in a single-season and most points in a single season. She had a career-high five goals against Mercer to lead Fresno State to a 12-10 victory. Wallace was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for games played April 3 through April 9. She led the Bulldogs to a 1-1 week, defeating San Diego State for the first time in program history 17-12 Monday night. The freshman recorded a team-high six goals, six points, two ground balls and one draw control last week. Wallace had a hat trick in the win and in the game against UC Davis. Wallace logged back-to-back conference weekly accolades when she was named MPSF Rookie of the Week for game played April 10 through the April 16. She led Fresno State to a 1-1 week, recording seven goals. The freshman had a team-high four goals in the win against Saint Mary's and a hat trick against Stanford.
Freshman Marina Mayo, who has 22 goals, 23 ground balls, 16 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers on the season, was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for games played Feb. 6 through Feb. 12. She scored four goals and grabbed a team-high four ground balls in her collegiate debut to lead the Bulldogs to a 15-12 victory over LIU Brooklyn.
Freshman midfielder Kayla Galet, who has 25 goals on the season, was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for games played Feb. 27 through March 5. She scored six goals on nine shots to lead Fresno State to an 18-6 victory over Presbyterian College. She grabbed one ground ball and caused two turnovers. The freshman was a perfect 1-for-1 in free position shots. Galet sparked an 8-0 Bulldog run in the first half with three consecutive goals.
Freshman goalkeeper Laurel Maunder is No. 34 in the nation in total saves with 124 this season. She is No. 32 in the nation in saves per game, averaging 8.27.
Bulldogs have experience
Fresno State returns 14 letterwinners, including last season's leading scorer junior Nicole Ortlieb.
Ortlieb set a new single-season school record last year scoring 34 goals. The Bulldogs also return two-time All-MPSF honoree and all-time draw control leader (112) senior Caroline Dineen-Carlson.
