'Dogs win both matches on Senior Day

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day with two wins. The Bulldogs defeated Mountain West foe Nevada 4-1 and UC Santa Cruz  6-1.
The Fresno State men's tennis team honored its lone senior and team captain, Euan McIntosh. McIntosh was 4-0 on the day in singles and doubles.
The Bulldogs finish the season 17-12 (5-2 MW).
The 4-1 win over Nevada secures the Bulldogs as the No. 2 seed in the 2017 Mountain West Championship Tournament.
Fresno State finished one match back of No. 1 seed Utah State.
Against the Wolf Pack
Nevada took the win at No. 3 doubles.
Xander Veys and Mantas Bugailiskis took the win on court No. 2 (7-5).
Patrik Pech and Euan McIntosh secured the doubles point for the Bulldogs when they defeated their opponents 7-6 at the No. 1 doubles position.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into singles.
Fresno State extended its lead 2-0 when Xander Veys defeated Julien Evrard at the No. 1 position.
Mantas Bugailiskis bested Mile Cilic in three sets (6-2, 6-7, 6-1) at the No. 4 spot to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead.
Nevada put its first point on the board when Peter O'Donovan defeated Jeremy Moser at the No. 6 position in three sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Senior Euan McIntosh clinched the game for the Bulldogs in a hard fought match at the No. 2 position that came down to a third-set tiebreaker.
Against the Banana Slugs
Santa Cruz took the win at the No. 2 doubles position 6-0.
Mantas Bugailiskis and Zdenek Derkas defeated their opponents at the No. 3 doubles position 6-2.
Euan McIntosh and Xander Veys secured the doubles point with a win at the No. 1 doubles position 6-4.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into singles.
Euan McIntosh extended the Bulldog lead 2-0 when he defeated his opponent in straight sets at the No. 1 position. (6-1, 6-0)
The Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead over the Banana Slugs when Zdenek Derkas defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 position.
The match was clinched at the No. 5 position when Patrik Pech bested his opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
Bailey Gong took the win at the No. 6 position 6-1, 6-3 to put Fresno State up 5-0.
At the No. 3 position, Mantas Bugailiskis defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-1 to grab Fresno State's sixth point of the match.
Santa Cruz grabbed its lone point at the No. 4 position when Henrique Osorio fell to AJ Flora 6-4, 6-4.
