'Dogs No. 21 in Tennis Recruiting Network Mid-Major Top 25

Fresno State given top 25 ranking while only having one signee for the fall.
FRESNO, Calif. – With only one incoming student-athlete this fall, that one signee was good enough to land Fresno State in the Tennis Recruiting Network's Mid-Major Top 25. With Alessia Dario, the Bulldogs rank No. 21 in the 2017 ranking.

Fresno State is one of two teams from the Mountain West which feature in the Mid-Major Top 25. The 'Dogs are only one of three teams in the rankings to have just one incoming player this year.

Dario, a native of Francenigo, Italy, has won numerous regional and national tournaments since she began competing at the Under-14 level. At the Under-16 level, she won a European grade 2 tournament in Germany in singles, and grade 3 and grade 1 tournaments in doubles. In 2014 she competed for Italy at an international U16 winter tournament where she played in every match in singles and helped her country to a fourth-place ranking in Europe. That year, Dario earned a European ranking of No. 48 (U16).

She has held ITF rankings as high as 1170 in singles and 974 in doubles.
