11 soccer student-athletes garner MW Scholar-Athlete Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Fresno State women's soccer team had 11 players earn Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Awards for the 2016-17 academic year.
11 student-athletes is the second-most by a Bulldog program, behind the swimming and diving with 13 honorees.
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.
Alyssa Holsworth and Amanda Nunes received MW Scholar-Athlete Awards for the fourth-consecutive year. Holsworth graduated this spring with a bachelor's degree in sports marketing. Nunes graduated this spring with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
Peyton Cline and Angie Weiner earned MW Scholar-Athlete Awards for the third-consecutive year.
Marie Berwinkel-Kottmann and Alyssa Nishikawa landed MW Scholar-Athlete Awards for the second-consecutive year.
Kayla Calmes, Julia Glaser, Sydni Lunt and Kasidee Wiley received MW Scholar-Athlete Awards for the first time in their careers.
