Â
2 Matches, 2 Cities, 10 Sets, 1 Day
• Fresno State played a volleyball marathon on Saturday, playing two matches in two venues (with an hour and a half commute between them) over a stretch of less than 11 hours.
• The 'Dogs took on CSUN at 11 a.m. on the campus of Saint Mary's before crossing the bay bridge to play at San Francisco at 7 p.m. After not playing a five-set match all season, both contests on Saturday went five as the team played 10 sets of volleyball on the day.
• USF was playing its only match of the day and was able to outlast the Bulldogs in five after CSUN pulled out a narrow win in the first match. Together the two matches took four hours and 37 minutes to play.
Â
Brielle Goes Off
• Junior Brielle Hefner had the match of her life against San Francisco, recording a career-high 25 kills while hitting .404. She had 13 kills and no errors on her first 26 swings of the match as she more than doubled her previous career high of 12 kills and tied for the most kills by a Bulldog this season (Taylor Slover vs. UVU).
• Hefner has been a consistent offensive threat all season as she leads the team hitting .272 and is second with 2.78 kills per set. She has been especially effective as of late as she has tallied double-digit kills in four straight matches, averaging 3.50 kills per set while hitting .349 during the stretch.

• The Bulldogs broke the previous three-set program record of 15.0 blocks set against Hawaii in 2007. The squad came within one block of the overall program record of 22.0 blocks set in a four-set match
• The total was the highest for any Div. I match this season before Western Kentucky tallied 23.0 blocks in a five-set match. The 'Dogs had five blocks in the first set, nine in the second set, and seven in the third set.
Â
Running the Runners
• Fresno State has now won eight of its last nine meetings with valley rival CSU Bakersfield. Last Tuesday the 'Dogs swept the Roadrunners 3-0, recording a sweep for the fifth time in that nine-match stretch.
• The Bulldogs and Roadrunners will meet twice in the same season for the ninth time but the first since a home-and-home in 2012.
Â
Double Double-Doubles
• The Bulldogs had two double-doubles in the same match for the first time this season when Madelyn Halteman and Taylor Slover both had double-doubles against San Francisco.
• Halteman recorded her third double-double of the year with career highs of 59 assists and 15 digs while Slover recorded her first career double-double with 18 kills and 11 digs.

• With a 3-0 sweep at San Francisco on Aug. 26, the 'Dogs earned a sweep in their first true road match of the season for the third consecutive year, having won 3-0 at Boston College last season and at Western Carolina in 2015.
Â
Rival Win
• In the annual meeting between the two NCAA institutions in Fresno, the Bulldogs of Fresno State held Fresno Pacific to .000 hitting in the match with 10.5 blocks in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-17) sweep in an exhibition match last Tuesday.
• The Bulldogs held the Sunbirds to -.034 hitting in the second set and -.033 hitting in the third as FPU, an NCAA Div. II school, finished the night with 27 kills and 27 attack errors.
• Lauren Torres and Haile Watson each had five blocks for Fresno State, which hit .208 in its first home match of the season. Taylor Slover led the way offensively with eight kills
