'Dogs wrap up day one of the Wildcat Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Fresno State men's tennis team finished its first day of the Wildcat Invitational. Cagatay Soke, Jeremy Moser, Henrique Osorio and Bailey Gong made the trip to Arizona for the Bulldogs.
Gong defeated No. 4 seed Harun Ajanovic of Nothern Arizona University (7-5, 6-4) in the first round of the White Singles Draw. In the second round, Gong defeated Jesse Miritello of Abiliene Christian due to default. Gong will play in the championship round of the White Singles Draw Saturday at 11 a.m. PT against Alejandro Rosas of New Mexico State.
Soke defeated No. 1 seed Lorenzo Fucile of Grand Canyon University (6-2, 6-4) in the first round of the Cardinal Singles Draw. In the second round, Soke defeated No. 8 seed Carlos Hassey of Arizona (6-2, 2-6, 6-4). Soke will play in the semifinal round of the Cardinal Singles Draw on Saturday at 9 a.m. PT.
Moser defeated No. 3 seed Jan Kirchhoff of San Diego State (6-2, 6-3) in the first round of the Cardinal Singles Draw. In the second round, Moser defeated No. 6 seed Mathieu Rajaonah of Grand Canyon University (7-5, 6-3). He will play in the semifnal round of the Cardinal Singles Draw on Saturday at 9 a.m. PT.
As the No. 5 seed in the Cardinal Singles Draw, Osorio defeated Sergi Espias New Mexico State (6-3, 4-6, 6-3). Osorio fell to No. 4 seed Trent Botha of Arizona (6-1, 6-1).
In doubles, Moser and Soke received a first round bye in the Cardinal Singles Draw as the No. 3 seed. The duo will play the duo of Botha and Meparidze of Arizona on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. PT in the semifinals. Gong and Osorio defeated Andreolli and Cvitanovic of Grand Canyon University. The duo will play Asmar and Espias in the semifinals on Saturday at 8 a.m. PT.
