Thibault tied for fifth after 36 holes in Idaho

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – Following a Bulldog-best 3-under-par 69 in the final round of Fresno State's last event, freshman Brigitte Thibault continued that hot streak with a 3-under-par 139 through the first two rounds of Tuesday's action at Gonzaga's Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational.

Thibault, who is tied for fifth out of 90 individuals on the par 71 Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course, fired an opening round even-par 71 and a second round 3-under-par 68.

Thibault led the Bulldogs with eight birdies, while senior Mimi Ho fired seven. Ho is two shots back from her counterpart, sitting in a tie for 15th after a first round 2-under-par 69 and a second round 1-over-par 72.

Freshman Emma Larsson, in her collegiate debut, opened with a 5-over-par 76, but settled in and joined Thibault and Ho with one of three under-par rounds carded by Fresno State on Tuesday – a 1-under-par 70. Larsson is tied for 34th at 4-over-par (146).

Sophomore Hayden Mammen was steady with back-to-back 3-over-par 74's. She is tied for 50th. Freshman Alison Muirhead posted an 8-over-par 79 to start play, and followed with a 4-over-par 75. She is tied for 77th.

As a team, Fresno State settled for a seventh place standing at the conclusion of the first 36 holes. The 'Dogs dropped to as low as 17th and as high as third on what was a turbulent Tuesday. With 18 holes remaining Wednesday, Fresno State is five strokes from breaking back into the top three.

The final round of the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational will begin Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. PT. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
