- Dating back to 1923, Fresno State and Nevada are set for its 50th all-time meeting. This will be the 25th meeting in Reno (12-11-1) while the other 25 have been in Fresno (16-9). → The 'Dogs lead the all-time series 28-20-1 and also own the advantage as MW foe, 4-2.
- Fresno State opens its conference season this Saturday at Nevada while the Wolf Pack is set for their second MW game after opening at Air Force last week (W, 28-25). This will be the second consecutive season the Bulldogs will open MW play against Nevada.
- Fresno State was picked to win the West Division in the 2018 preseason poll released by the Mountain West (selected by the media). The predicted championship game pits the Bulldogs against Boise State for a second consecutive year.
- Fresno State closed its regular season nonconference schedule with three wins for the first time since 2013 and have three wins through its first four games for the first time since 2013.
- Senior quarterback Marcus McMaryion and redshirt junior defensive end Mykal Walker earned Mountain West Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, for their performances in the 'Dogs 49-27 win over Toledo last time out. McMaryion has garnered the award following each of the Bulldogs' last two contests.
- Since 1999, neither team in this series has lost the turnover battle and won the game.
- WR KeeSean Johnson leads the nation in consecutive games with at least one reception checking in at 40 - the next closest individual sits at 34. He is also the nation's active leader in career receptions with 206.
- Fresno State ranks in the nation's top 10 in 11 different stat categories: red zone defense (1st), turnover margin (2nd), turnovers gained (3rd), passes intercepted (4th), third-down conversions (5th), sacks allowed (6th), completion percentage (7th), tackles for loss allowed (7th), fewest penalties (8th), third-down defense (9th) and fewest penalty yards (9th).
