'Dogs wrap up day one of Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The Fresno State women's golf team opened play at its final competition of the fall semester at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Sunday, hosted by UNLV at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

The Bulldogs currently sit tied for ninth place as a team with a first round 3-over-par 291 and have two individuals in the top 10 at the end of round one.

Sophomore Brigitte Thibault shined for the 'Dogs in the opening round with a 3-under-par 69. Thibault owns the top spot on the leaderboard for Fresno State, tied for fourth place.

Danielle Richman, participating in the tournament as an individual, sits tied for eighth with a 2-under-par 70.

Freshman Jessica Hall fired an even-par 72 to open play and sits tied for 26th.

Kristin Simonsen shot a 2-over-par 74, placing her tied for 41st.

Dominika Gradecka was 4-over-par in the opening round, placing her tied for 63rd with a 76 and Harriet Lynch shot a 10-over-par 82 to finish the first day tied for 87th.

Thibault, Richman and Hall led the squad with four birdies apiece.

Looking Forward
The Bulldogs are back in action for round two tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PT. Live stats will be available for the second round at GolfStat.com.
