Ele Avery earns All-MW Second Team Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State forward Ele Avery earned 2018 All-Mountain West accolades, announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. The sophomore was named to the All-MW Second Team.
This is Avery's first career All-MW honor. Avery saw action in all 11 conference games, starting 10 games. She finished conference play with three assists, three points and 22 shots. Avery was a playmaker on the Bulldogs' offense with a team-high three assists, including the assist on the game-winning goal against Colorado State (Oct. 14) and the assist on the equalizing goal against Air Force (Sept. 21)
The Elk Grove, Calif. native recorded at least one shot in 10 conference games, and had five multi-shot games. Avery recorded a career-high five shots against Wyoming (Oct. 12). The sophomore also took all four of the Bulldogs' shots against San Jose State (Oct. 26).
Avery was a key member of Fresno State's offense that outscored conference opponents 11-9. During conference play, Fresno State's offense ranked within the top half of the conference in points, goals, goals per game, assists and assists per game during.
Avery and the rest of the Bulldogs enter the 2018 MW Championship Tournament as the No. 5 seed, they will face No. 4 San Jose State on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. PT.
