Fresno State falls to Vanderbilt in President's Day Matchup

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State lacrosse team fell to Vanderbilt 22-12 on Monday afternoon. The Bulldogs were led by Tiffiny Wallace, who had three goals on the game.

Fresno State falls to 2-2 on the season, 1-1 at home.

Mackenzie Wallevand, Kayla Galet and Sarah Bloise each scored two goals for the Bulldogs. Ryleigh Bone, Marina Mayo and Kennedy Mulvaney each notched one goal to round out scoring for Fresno State.

FIRST HALF
Wallace, Wallevand, Galet, Bloise, Bone, Mayo, Mulvaney, Hannah Krats, Hannah Krats, Olivia Mannon, Alex Romanowski and Abigail Bergevin led the charge for the Bulldogs, with Laurel Maunder in the box.

Fresno State opened up scoring when Bloise scored on a free position. Vanderbilt quickly recovered with back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead with 23:54 left in the half.

The Bulldogs went on a 3-0 run to take a 5-3 lead, sparked by an unassisted goal from Wallevand.

Vanderbilt went on a 5-0 run, four scored off of free position shots. The Commodores retook the lead, 10-5 going into the half.

SECOND HALF
Fresno State took the momentum out of the huddle, Galet scored on a breakaway goal to put the 'Dogs within four.

The Commodores took a 14-6 lead after going on a 4-0 run with 22:04. Bloise ended the run with a free position shot with 20:16.

Mayo and Galet scored back-to-back goals to make it s 15-9 game. Vanderbilt responded with a goal of its own, but Fresno State went on a 2-0 run. It was 16-11 game with 10:30.

The Commodores sealed in the win with a 6-0 run to finish the game.
