Fresno State falls in battle against Mount St. Mary's 11-10

EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team lost a hard-fought battle on the road against Mount St. Mary's 11-10, Monday afternoon. The Mountaineers scored two goals in the final six minutes The Bulldogs were led by sophomore Tiffiny Wallace who had four goals in the contest.

Sarah Bloise scored three goals, Kayla Galet had two goals and Ryleigh Bone notched one goal to round out scoring for the 'Dogs.

FIRST HALF
Wallace, Bloise, Galet, Bone Marina Mayo, Olivia Mannon, Hannah Krats, Alex Romanowski, Mackenzie Wallevand, Abigail Bergevin and Kennedy Mulvaney chalked the start for Fresno State with Laurel Maunder in the box.

The 'Dogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead with 27:25 left in the half when Bloise scored her first goal of the match.

Mount St. Mary's opened up scoring by scoring back-to-back goals with 21:56 left in the half, taking a 2-1 lead.

Fresno State would go on a 3-0 run with 12:36 left in the half to take a 5-3 lead. The run was sparked by two goals from Wallace.

The two teams would exchange goals to end the half. After 30 minutes, Fresno State led 8-6.

SECOND HALF
Mount St. Mary's opened scoring, cutting the 'Dogs lead to one goal (8-7).

Both teams amped up their defense in the second half, the next goal wasn't scored until six minutes later. Fresno State would break the scoring drought, retaking a two-goal lead with 14:21 left in the game.

Fresno State held the lead for nearly 44 minutes of the contest.

With 5:18 left in the game, the Mountaineers went on a 3-0 run to retake the lead 11-10.Â

With 3:38 left in the match, the 'Dogs were unable to overcome the one-goal deficit.
