Alex Lee fires a 1-under-par 141, within striking distance of lead after 36 holes

EUGENE, Ore. – Alex Lee carded a 1-over-par 72 in the opening round before capping day one of the Duck Invitational with a 2-under-par 69. The junior, who was one of only eight players to finish in red numbers on Monday, will enter Tuesday's final round in a tie for fifth place and just four shots from the top of the leaderboard. As a team, Fresno State sits in 10th place among a stacked field of 16 teams.

ROUND 1
Alex Lee and Lane Pulliam paced the Bulldogs in the first round as both fired a 1-over-par 72. Lee got off to a solid start, as he was 1-under-par through his first seven holes. But the junior would play his final 11 holes at 2-over-par to finish the round. Pulliam shot an even-par 37 on the back nine and carded a 1-over-par 36 on the front.

Justin Avery and John Burke both finished with a 7-over-par 78 in their opening rounds. Avery holed the lone birdie between the pair, carding a four on the par-5 16th.

Michael Cliff concluded the first round at 11-over-par to round out the Bulldogs lineup.

After round one, the Bulldogs stood in 13th place among the 16-team field with a collective 16-over-par 300.

ROUND 2
Alex Lee continued his impressive play in round two. The junior fired a 2-under-par 69 to lead the Bulldogs, collecting four birdies along the way. Lee is in a tie for fifth heading into the final round.

Michael Cliff improved significantly in the second round. Cliff shot 3-over-par on the front nine and carded a stellar 1-under-par on the back to finish with a 2-over-par 73. The freshman concluded the day in a tie for 71st.

Lane Pulliam shot an 8-over-par 79 in round two. Pulliam is tied for 49th going into the final 18 holes.

Justin Avery carded a 4-over-par 75 while John Burke finished with a 6-over-par 77. The seniors sit in a tie for 64th and a tie for 71st, respectively.

Fresno State ended the day in 10th place after compiling a 26-over-par 594. Tuesday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. PT at Eugene Country Club.
