Mattson sits in 16th in heptathlon at Texas Relays

Junior has 3,068 points through four events.
AUSTIN, Texas – Jestena Mattson opened up the Texas Relays for the Fresno State track and field team on Wednesday where she sits in 16th through the first four events of the heptathlon. The junior will complete the final three events on Thursday.
After starting 22nd through one event, Mattson moved up with a 12th-place finish in the high jump (1.63m/5'-4.25") before finishing 13th in the shot put (11.06m/36'-3.5"). Despite a 13th-place result in the 200 meters, Mattson slid back to 16th overall with 3,068 points.
Mattson will begin the final three events of the heptathlon at 9 a.m. PT tomorrow with the long jump. Following the conclusion of multi-events, running events will start during the afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m.
