'Dogs top Highlanders, 17-8

RADFORD, Va. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team won its third consecutive game, defeating Radford 17-8 on Thursday. Junior Sarah Bloise led the Bulldogs with four goals in the contest.
Fresno State improves to 8-4 on the season.
Ryleigh Bone and Kayla Galet both notched three goals, recording hat tricks. Lauren Kiszely and Marina Mayo scored a pair of goals apiece. Tiffiny Wallace, Hannah Krats and Megan Walaitis each scored one goal to round out scoring for the Bulldogs.
FIRST HALF
Bloise, Krats, Galet, Wallace, Bone, Mackenzie Wallevand, Kennedy Mulvaney, Marina Mayo, Lindsay Hobson and Abigail Bergevin chalked the start for Fresno State, with Laurel Maunder in the goal.
The Bulldogs and Highlanders exchanged goals to start the game. Fresno State pulled ahead when Kiszely and Bloise scored back-to-back goals to make it a 3-1 game.
Radford responded with a 3-0 run, taking the lead for the first time in the game. Highlanders were up 5-4 with 18:21 left in the half.
Radford's run was ended by a goal from Walaitis, tying the game 4-4 with 15:13 left in the half.
Fresno State ended the half with back-to-back goals from Bloise and Krats, taking a 6-5 lead into halftime.
SECOND HALF
Bone opened scoring in the second half, giving the Bulldogs a 7-5.
Fresno State and Radford exchanged goals, but Fresno State pulled away with back-to-back goals with 16:14 left to make it a 10-7 game.
Radford scored one last time with 15:26 left in the game to make it a two-goal game. The Bulldogs finished the game on a 7-0 run to seal in the win. Fresno State's defense held Radford scoreless for the last 15 minutes of the contest, not allowing the Highlanders to get back in the game.
The clock expired with the Bulldogs leading 17-8.

Fresno State owned the advantage in shots (40-29), ground balls (18-14) and saves (10-6). Radford notched more draw controls on the night 16-11.
Sarah Bloise led the Bulldogs' offense with four goals, two assists, eight points, 1 ground ball and one caused turnover. On defense, Olivia Mannon notched a career-high nine draw controls and grabbed three ground balls. In the goal, Laurel Maunder played all 60 minutes for the Bulldogs and recorded 11 saves.
