'Dogs earn five top-10 finishes on Friday

STANFORD, Calif./AUSTIN, Texas/San Marcos, Texas – Competing in three different meets in two states, the Fresno State track and field team picked up five top-10 finishes on Friday. Three of the Bulldogs' top results came from the women's throws group at the Stanford Invitational.
Vanja Spaic and Yazmin Torres each grabbed Fresno State's top results of the day, as they finished fourth in the javelin and shot put, respectively. Spaic hit a mark of 49.78m/163'-4" in the javelin, four inches outside of third. In the shot put, Torres recorded a personal record at 14.03m/46'-0.5", landing the mark on her second attempt of the event.
Aisiah Tuiasosopo was the third member of the Bulldogs' throws group to land a top-10 result as she placed sixth in the hammer throw. The senior was just short of her personal best with a mark of 58.00m/190'-3".
In Texas, Breanna Covington took fifth in the long jump at the Bobcat Invitational. The sophomore finished just ahead of her personal record which she set two weeks earlier. Covington's mark came in at 5.80m/ . At the Texas Relays, fellow teammate in the jumps, Tijana Antic, in her first triple jump event of the outdoor season, placed 10th. The sophomore recorded her top mark of 12.04m/39'-6".
The Bulldogs will competition at the Bobcat Invitational and Stanford Invitational on Saturday.
