No. 25 Fresno State continues GCC road slate with faceoff at No. 7 Pacific

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State water polo will trek up Highway 99 this weekend to take on No. 7 Pacific on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. PT. The Tigers represent a big test as they are the highest-ranked team the Bulldogs have faced since No. 6 Arizona State back on March 10. However, the 'Dogs have been playing well as of late, as they are 2-2 in their last four contests and have narrowly missed victories against formidable opponents in No. 12 UC San Diego and No. 21 San Diego State.

"Pacific is a very talented and experienced team," head coach Natalie Benson said. "I am looking forward to seeing how we compete on Saturday."

BULLDOG NOTES
-Callie Woodruff continues to lead Fresno State in points (42). The Baytown, Texas native has scored a team-high 35 goals and dished out seven assists.
-Woodruff is averaging a hat trick in her last three games. She scored three goals against No. 12 UC San Diego, four in a win over Concordia and two against No. 21 San Diego State.
-In her last five games, Emily Nicholson has poured in 11 goals and drawn a team-leading 13 exclusions.
-Nicholson and Woodruff are tied for the team high in steals with 17 apiece.
-Claire Schade remains second on the team in points (29) with 13 goals scored and a team-high 16 assists.
-Isabella Magno had arguably her best game of the season in the 14-7 victory over Concordia. The junior tallied five points on a hat trick and two assists. She also swiped three steals and logged a field block.
-Hannah Duggins has started the last two games in the cage for the 'Dogs. The freshman goalie registered a combined 18 saves, a steal and an assist against Concordia and San Diego State.

The Tigers own a 12-7 record on the season with a perfect 5-0 mark in Golden Coast Conference play. UOP's 12 wins are highlighted by victories over Michigan (three times), UC Irvine (twice), Long Beach State and Loyola Marymount. Pacific has not lost to a team ranked lower than No. 10 all season. The Tigers' offense is headlined by Mariana Duarte (46 goals) and Kyra Christmas (36 goals). The defense is anchored by goalie Alexis Hollinrake, who has logged 116 saves, a team-high 43 steals and 11 assists in 543 minutes played. Pacific will host No. 21 San Diego State on Friday, April 13 before taking on the Bulldogs on Saturday.
