'Dogs to celebrate Senior Day on Sunday

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team will host San Diego State in its Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opener on Sunday, April 15 for Senior Day at 1 p.m. PT.

The team will honor its seven seniors in Natalie Chaffin, Ellie Galindo, Abigail Bergevin, Lindsay Hobson, Naydy Hernandez, Nicole Ortlieb and Logan Eisinger. Senior Day festivities will begin at 12:45 p.m. PT. Admission and parking to all Fresno State women's lacrosse games are free of charge.

QUICK LOOK AT THE BULLDOGS
Fresno State 9-6 this season, 2-3 at home. The Bulldogs are coming off a 12-11 loss to UC Davis on Wednesday.

Last week – Fresno State posted a 1-1 week, with a win over Cal and a loss to No. 13 Stanford. The Bulldogs edged out the Golden Bears 14-13 on the road, but came up short against the Cardinal 18-2.
Marina Mayo was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Offensive Player of the Week. The sophomore led Fresno State to a 1-1 week, chalking a 14-13 win over Cal. The Park City, Utah native scored a career-high five goals on six shots in the hard-fought victory. Mayo also recorded one ground ball and was a perfect 1-1 in free position shots. The Bulldogs were down 7-4 at halftime, Mayo scored three consecutive goals to secure a 12-8 lead over the Bears going into the last 10 minutes of the contest.
The midfielder finished the week with two ground balls and two caused turnovers against No. 13 Stanford, on the road.

Sarah Bloise leads the Bulldogs on the attack with 38 goals and 17 assists. Tiffiny Wallace has also been a staple in Fresno State's offense with 33 goals and 15 assists on the season. Freshman Hannah Krats has made a huge contribution on defense with 35 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers. In the goal, Laurel Maunder has recorded 128 saves and a .494 save percentage.

The Aztecs are averaging 13.80 goals per game this season. SDSU has outscored its opponents 207-175 and outshot its opponents 473-462. The Aztecs have owned the advantage in draw controls 235-171, but have recorded fewer ground balls 290-271.

The duo of Jill Haight and Harlowe Steele lead the attack for the Aztecs, they have scored 31 each this season. In the goal, Katy Sharretts has recorded 132 saves and .460 save percentage.
