Bulldog Notes:
-Fresno State will be competing in its sixth Mountain West Championship since joining the conference in 2012.
-In their previous five appearances at the Mountain West Championships, the Bulldogs have placed third, tied for sixth, 10th and 11th (twice).
-Trevor Clayton won the individual crown in 2016 at OMNI Tucson National. The former 'Dog finished with a 54-hole, 9-under-par 207.
-Before Clayton, the last Bulldog to win an individual conference title was Grant Doverspike back in 2007, who won the WAC Championship.
-Alex Lee was Fresno State's top finisher at the 2017 Mountain West Championships, placing in a tie for 15th with a 54-hole, 1-under-par 215.
-Lee is fresh off an individual title at the Geiberger Invitational on April 10 where he compiled a 54-hole, 7-under-par 207. The junior's victory was the first by a Bulldog since Trevor Clayton's win at the 2016 MW Championship. Lee's first-place finish led the 'Dogs to their highest finish in a tournament this season (fourth).
-Lee is Fresno State's scoring average leader at 72.14 (0.62 versus par). He also paces the team in birdies (101), subpar strokes/round (3.76), greens in regulation (68 percent), average putts (30.5) and is tied for the team lead in eagles with four.
-Michael Cliff is coming off his best showing of the season, a T-14th place finish at the Geiberger Invitational.
-Cliff is tied for the team lead in eagles with four and paces the team in driving accuracy, hitting nearly 70 percent of fairways on the season.
-Justin Avery is second on the team in scoring average at 74.62 (3.10 versus par).
-Lane Pulliam is a shade behind Avery in scoring average at 74.78 (3.22 versus par). Pulliam has the lowest single-round score of the season along with Alex Lee (65).
-Avery is second on the team in birdies (76), Pulliam is third (74) and Cliff is fourth (72).
-While Cody Riecks has only played 11 rounds this season, his scoring average of 73.1 (1.82 versus par) would rank second on the team behind Alex Lee. Riecks' low round of the season is a 69.
-The weather forecast during the MW Championships will yield temperatures in the mid-50s with a high of 60 degrees on Friday. There is a 40 percent chance of rain showers on Saturday while Friday and Sunday will be mostly cloudy.
