Seniors Ho and Spencer carry ‘Dogs on opening day of Dale McNamara Invitational

TULSA, Okla. – Seniors Mimi Ho and Samantha Spencer led the Fresno State women's golf team on Monday posting top 15 scores at the Dale McNamara Invitational to help put the team in fifth place of the 13 in action. The Bulldogs played two rounds on Monday and will tee off the final round of the event on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. PT.
Ho is the Bulldogs' clubhouse leader. She carded a 1-over-par 71 followed by a 3-over-par 74 on the par 70, 6,112- yard Tulsa Country Club golf course. The senior posted five birdies and 22 pars on the day. Ho will enter the final round seeking her fourth top 10 finish of the season.
Spencer is tied for 15th place via a first round 5-over-par 75 and a second round 3-over-par 73. At 8-over-par for the tournament, Spencer is four shots back from teammate Ho and seven shots back from the lead. Spencer will go after her first top 15 finish of the season on Tuesday.
Alison Muirhead and Brigitte Thibault both fired 3-over-par 73's on Monday to help them finish inside the top 35, but Muirhead's second round 9-over-par 79 and Thibault's first round 10-over-par 80 kept the two from bidding for the clubhouse lead. Muirhead is tied for 30th while Thibualt is tied for 32nd.
Rounding out the 'Dogs in play, Danielle Richman is tied for 43rd (75-81) and Kelsi Stieler is tied for 50th (75-82).
Fresno State (+32) trails leader Oklahoma State (+12), as well as Texas A&M (+18), Mississippi State (+26) and Texas State (+30).
The final round will get underway at 6:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday with a shotgun start. The Bulldogs are scheduled to start off of tees No. 4-8 and will be paired with Texas State and Texas Tech.
