2018 Women's Soccer Schedule is released, 'Dogs to host nine matches

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's soccer team will host nine matches of its 19-game schedule during the upcoming 2018 season, which is set to begin on Aug. 17, 10th-year head coach Brian Zwaschka announced. The Bulldogs will host three nonconference opponents, and six Mountain West matches in the Fresno State Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium.
"We can't wait to get going again this fall, and seeing the layout of our schedule really has us excited," said Zwaschka. "What a great opportunity and challenge to play an exhibition against the current national champions as an early test and checkpoint in our preseason. We've added a lot of competitive road games in our non-conference segment to prepare for our tough road weekends in Mountain West Conference play. We are especially excited to have nine home games to be able to compete in front of the Red Wave."

Prior to the start of the Bulldogs' 2018 campaign, they will head North to face reigning national champion Stanford on Aug. 10 in an exhibition match. Fresno State will officially kick off the season on the road against Montana on Aug. 17, followed by a neutral site match against Drake on Aug. 19.
The remaining matches of the 'Dogs nonconference schedule will be played against opponents from the Golden State: Sacramento State (Aug. 24), at UC Riverside (Aug. 31), at Fullerton (Sept. 2), UCSB (Sept. 6), at Saint Mary's (Sept. 9) and UC Irvine (Sept. 14).
Fresno State will open Mountain West play on the road against Air Force (Sept. 21). The 'Dogs will host three consecutive MW home games against Colorado College (Sept. 23), New Mexico (Sept. 28) and San Diego State (Sept. 30). Followed by back-to-back road games against UNLV (Oct. 5) and Nevada (Oct. 7). Before returning home to host Wyoming (Oct. 12) and Colorado State (Oct. 14). Fresno State will play its last two road games against Boise State (Oct. 19) and Utah State (Oct. 21). The 'Dogs will host San Jose State for its final regular season match on Oct. 26.
Parking and admission to all Fresno State women's soccer games are free of charge.Â
The 2018 Mountain West Tournament will be hosted by San Jose State Oct. 30 – Nov. 3.
