FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State men's tennis head coach Luke Shields announced the signing of Johannes Seeman, on Thursday. The Estonia native will join the Bulldogs as a freshman for the 2019-20 season with four years of eligibility.
"We are really excited to have Johannes join our squad," Shields said. "He brings a lot of enthusiasm to the table. He is hard working, energetic, has great joy and love for the game. A lot of his values match what we are all about. I see him coming here and thriving in this environment. He has a big game with a lot of upside. We are really excited to start developing him."
Seeman stayed ranked within the Top 3 of Estonia throughout his junior career. He also has tabbed a career-high ITF ranking of 477.
Recently, Seeman advanced to the semifinals of the doubles bracket in the 2018 Riga Open. In the U18 Tallink Cup, he won the championship of the main doubles draw. He also advanced to the quarterfinals in the singles bracket.Â
Seeman is the third member of the Bulldogs' 2019 signing class. Shields' announced the signing of Daniel Baturyn and Antonin Stepanek earlier this year. The Bulldogs have notched the No. 22-ranked recruiting class in the nation, according to Tennis Recruiting Network. Fresno State is the only Mountain West team listed in the 25-team ranking.
