Bulldog Bones
Prior to the Bulldogs' game at Santa Clara, Fresno State was feasting on opponents' turnovers. The 10 points off turnovers against the Broncos was the Bulldogs' lowest total since the team's last loss on Nov. 29, the last time the 'Dogs scored less points off turnovers than their opponent. The Bulldogs rebounded against UC Merced with a season-high 37 points off 27 Bobcat turnovers.
- During Fresno State's four-game winning streak (Nov. 30-Dec. 12), the team was averaging 27.8 points off turnovers. Three of the Bulldogs' highest points off turnovers totals came during the four-game stretch.
No looking back  Â
Through 13 games, the Bulldogs have shown a propensity for getting halftime leads and not looking back. Fresno State is 8-0 when leading at the half and has not surrendered the lead at any point in the second half in any of those games. On the other side, the Bulldogs have come back from a halftime deficit just once in five opportunities.
Top-down  Â
The Bulldogs have proved to be successful when their starters are producing. That has included six of their nine wins coming when their top three scorers have been the trio of Haley Cavinder, Hanna Cavinder and Maddi Utti. Led by those three, Fresno State is 9-0 when its starting five has outscored its opponents' five, while going 0-4 when its group has been outscored.
Sure-handed  Â
Fresno State has had some of the surest hands on the ball this season, ranking fifth in the NCAA in turnovers, averaging 11.5 per game after a season-low five last time out. That number is currently on pace for a program low which stands at 13.65.
- With three guards who can run the point, the 'Dogs expect to be below the 14.3 turnovers that they averaged a season ago. They have been over that number once just twice through 13 games.
Making the extra pass   Â
With its four highest assist totals of the season coming in the last month, including a season-high 29 on Dec. 12, three assists shy of a school record, Fresno State ranks No. 30 in the NCAA with 211. The Bulldogs have averaged 20.6 assists per game this month, just over four assists higher than their season average which ranks third in the MW (16.2 apg).
- Ranking fourth in the league in assists, the Bulldogs' low turnover frequency has them leading the MW and ranking No. 9 in the NCAA with a 1.41 assist-to-turnover ratio. The rate is significantly higher the program record of 1.11.
