2019 Football schedule announced
2/4/2019 12:01:00 PM | Football
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Having already known its 2019 nonconference slate of hosting Minnesota (Sept. 7) and Sacramento State (Sept. 21) while traveling to USC (Aug. 31) and New Mexico State (Sept. 28), Fresno State learned what's in store for its 2019 conference schedule on Monday afternoon, announced by the Mountain West.
Â
The first six weeks of the season will include four nonconference games and two bye weekends before the reigning Mountain West Champions start their quest to repeat with eight conference games over eight weeks.
Â
The 'Dogs open MW play on the road at Air Force, and following their trip to the academy the Bulldogs will host three of the next four games with a trip to Hawai'i in the middle of that stretch. In November, the Bulldogs will have three-straight crucial West Division contests to close the year as they will be seeking their fifth divisional title in the last seven seasons. That includes senior day at Bulldog Stadium against Nevada the weekend prior to Thanksgiving weekend, and the regular season finale at San Jose State the ensuing week.
Â
Monday's release represents the first phase in the 2019 MW football schedule process and league games can still move to Thursdays or Fridays, but the week-of schedule is locked in. Nonconference dates will not change.
Â
Mountain West national television partners CBS Sports Network and ESPN will now initiate a selection procedure that will include the shifting of particular games. That will be followed by the identification of network outlets and kick times, along with the picks for regional partner AT&T SportsNet, Stadium and Spectrum Sports (Hawai'i).
