'Dogs place fifth at Bandon Dunes Championship

BANDON, Ore. – After a season-best round the day before, the Fresno State men's golf team used that to rise as high as No. 1 in the team standings during Tuesday's final round of the Bandon Dunes Championship before dropping down the stretch to finish fifth.

Individually, senior Alex Lee was the Bulldogs' top finisher as he placed 15th by shooting 3-over (223) throughout the three rounds. Lee started the day in a tie for fourth after a 6-under 66 second round on Monday, but couldn't recapture the magic on Tuesday, posting a 6-over 78.

Sophomore Kevin Huff and freshman Tommy Stephenson shared matching scores of 7-over for the tournament to each place tied for 24th at the event. Huff shot a 4-over 76 during Tuesday's final round while Stephenson carded a 5-over 77.

Redshirt senior Cody Riecks and freshman Seldon Doyle each tied for 43rd, matching one another at 11-over. Riecks finished up with an 8-over 80 while Doyle shot his best round of the week, firing a 2-over 74.

Up Next
After three tournaments in less than three weeks, the Bulldogs will take a breather and return to action April 1 at the Seattle Invitational. It is a two-day event hosted by the University of Seattle at Chambers Bay Golf Course.
