FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State football team hosted its annual Pro Day on Monday inside Bulldog Stadium. In front of 33 professional scouts from 28 different NFL teams and three CFL organizations, 19 Bulldogs from the 2018 squad did their best to peak the interests of those in attendance for future employment.Â
The scouts were on campus to watch the Bulldogs participate in the 40-yard dash, bench press (225 lbs.), vertical jump, broad jump, 3 cone drill and shuttle runs, as well as player specific position drills.
Â
Players reported around 10:30 a.m. at the Duncan Athletics Building, went through introductions and proceeded to the weight room for measurements as well as the bench press, broad jump and vertical jump portions of the testing. The remainder of the tests took place inside the stadium.
Â
While inside the weight room, highlights from the bench included Boyer leading everyone with 26 reps, while Belony and St. Andrew posted 25 reps. Helmuth tallied 19 reps, Hardaway led the wide outs with 17 and Kelly led the defensive backs with 16 reps. Also of notice, Jordan notched a 42-inch vertical and McMaryion posted a 35-inch vertical.
Â
On the field, all eyes were on the 40-yard dash. Four different Bulldogs posted sub-4.5 second 40-yard dashes. Burt led the 'Dogs with a blazing 4.31, followed by Jordan (4.41), Kelly (4.43) and Hardaway (4.47). Bell and Johnson also improved on their respective combine numbers as Bell recorded a 4.65 and Johnson posted a 4.53.Â
Â
McMaryion had approximately 35-40 reps in his position drill throwing the football, he was in good care with the services of six different wide outs taking part in Monday's workout.

What LB Jeff Allison said
Â
On the day in general...Â
"Felt great, the energy of being around your brothers again, similar faces and people you've been around for a couple of years, it felt great to come out here and just get the chance to attack the field with your brothers."
Â
On how much you need to love football to go through this...
"This process is not meant for everybody. A lot people can't finish it, some people don't make it to this day, but if you love it, you will sacrifice what you have to, to make sure you get to where you want to go."
On what's next leading up to the draft...Â
"Next, football specific, keep training and wait for somebody to give me that phone call, hopefully. If not, if I get that opportunity, just keep working my butt off to do what I have to do at the next level."
What DB Mike Bell said
Â
On feedback received from scouts so far...Â
"Everybody likes my film so far, they can tell my film speaks for itself, I don't really have to say much for myself. It's good feedback, a lot of coaches like me and a lot of scouts have been talking to me. I'm excited for what comes next."
On what may have surprised him about the process...
"Probably the preparation. It's nothing like I've done before. I never ran track before so I'm not a track runner. I'd never ran 40 yards or anything like that. Doing stuff that your body's not used to, turning different ways and running and stuff like that. But after this point, it's on to real football now, I'm glad I don't have to run the 40 ever again."
On how Fresno State prepared him...
"Tremendously. Between the equipment and training staff, Coach [Andy] Ward has done an amazing job. His training is not far off from what I've been doing for the combine. This is a great program that is on the way up, Fresno State did a wonderful job getting me ready for this."
Â
What QB Marcus McMaryion said
Â
On the day in general...Â
"Overall, good performance. I'm excited for all the guys, and myself included, to have an opportunity in front of all these scouts. Couple things here and there I'm sure everyone wish they had back, but overall, we put out our best performance so I'm excited about it."
On if he proved he belongs in the conversation of moving on to the next level...
"I think I definitely put my name on a couple lists, even just coming out of the Shrine Game, I think I performed pretty well out there, what's done is done now and it's in God's hands from now to be honest so we'll see where I end up."
On his mindset for playing football next year...
"100 percent. I just need an opportunity. I know if I get somewhere whether if it's drafted late, free agent, whatever it is, as soon as I get somewhere on a team, I know I'm going to find my next home."
Â

What's next
The 2019 NFL Draft is April 25-27 and will take place in Nashville, Tenn. Despite 10 NFL draft picks this decade, the program is eyeing an end to a three-year skid of no draft pics. The 2015 draft was the last draft a Bulldog heard their name called (Tyeler Davison, 5th Rd./ Derron Smith, 6th Rd./ Cody Wichmann, 6th Rd.). Â
