- The Bulldogs are headed to their first ever tournament on foreign soil this week. It is in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and is being hosted by the University of Iowa.
- All five Bulldogs competing in this week's event own passports from countries outside the United States.
- The El Tigre Golf Club will be challenging as it has hosted the PGA Tour's World Cup Qualifier for seven years straight, hosted the Ladies LPGA Symetra tour twice, the Canadian PGA Tour, the Mexican National Junior Championship, and many others.
- El Tigre Golf Club is a unique course in that it has five par 3's (including a true island green) and five par 5's.
- The Bulldogs enter the event ranked No. 99 by Golfstat. Seven of the 11 opponents are ranked inside the top 100 including No. 10 Arizona. The host Iowa is ranked No. 133.
- Of the season's seven tournaments played, sophomore Brigitte Thibault has been the Bulldogs' top finisher five times. She has earned six straight top 20 finishes.
- Thibault will not play in the Bulldogs' next tournament as she owns a special invitation to the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur, which will be held April 3-6 in Augusta, Ga.
- Thibault was ranked No. 139 nationally in the latest Golfstat poll. She is the only Bulldog ranked inside the Top 250 individual rankings. She vaulted to No. 146 from No. 176 from the March 5 poll to the March 12 poll, and now is up to No. 139.
- Thibault leads the team with a 72.95 scoring average over 21 rounds in four fall tournaments and three spring events. Jessica Hall is not far off as she owns a 74.38 average over 21 rounds.
- The trio of Thibault, Hall and Kristin Simonsen have appeared in all seven tournaments played so far this season. Those three are each set to be featured in the lineup this week.
- Dominika Gradecka enters the 'Dogs starting lineup for the second time this season. She last saw action in the starting five at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Oct. 21-23.
- Kelsi Stieler, not featured in this week's lineup, was named to the All-Mountain West SAAC Community Service team on March 15 - a top honor for one individual at each institution in the conference.
- Weather at the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational on Thursday (High 83F, Low 61F) is forecasted to have a zero percent chance of rain and 10-15 winds; Friday (High 83F, Low 61F) is forecasted to have a 10 percent chance of rain and 10-15 winds; Saturday (High 84F, Low 61F) is forecasted to have a zero percent chance of rain and 10-15 winds.
